Rickson Gracie….the G.O.A.T.

My main goal for my Jiu-Jitsu students is simple….don’t lose!  Easier said than done so… Please hear me out.

If you encounter a street fight situation, you get jumped, or sucker punched….whatever happens you “don’t lose”.  I don’t care if you win, but you must not lose, because you will be prepared, with a plan.

Think about it. If you get attacked, and you get to go home to your family….that is a win!

With that said let me expand on this.  As you continue learning Jiu-Jitsu in a controlled environment, you will begin to ‘not lose’ in practice, which over time will have you ‘winning‘ the various positions.

We train with our partners so much that you will be put in bad positions so many times that you will begin to feel comfortable and will be able to nullify the attack of your training partner.

At Hendo BJJ we train in traditional Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, which includes Jiu-Jitsu with large slices of Vale Tudo (no holds barred), and Self Defense, for men, women and children.

So if you are jumped or encounter problems, it should be just like drill.

To quote the greatest Jiu-Jitsu fighter of

all time – Rickson Gracie:

“Sometimes, you don’t have to win, you cannot win. but that has nothing to do with losing.” ~~Rickson Gracie

Let me say this, if it’s good enough for Rickson Gracie, it is most certainly good

enough for me and how I teach my students …..and I hope you can embrace this thought when it comes to your self defense for you and your family!

Next week we are working on these principles.  Come see for yourself just how effective Gracie Jiu-Jitsu really is!

”Train hard, train smart…train for LIFE”!
