Jiu-Jitsu: The Gentle Art

This is the beauty of Jiu-Jitsu.

simple confrontation doesn’t have to be handled with an overly heavy hand, with hard core violence or the use of a weapon. (The “I’ll just shoot them” mentality, that I’ve heard hundreds of times over the past 20+ years, is a ridiculous statement, when deadly force is not necessary)

I think this attitude is simply wrong. I totally support 2A, I’ve been an NRA Instructor for the past decade, and a person has the right to bear arms. But again, I’m talking about a simple confrontation….not a violent attack or someone invading your home.

Often times, a little verbal Jiu-Jitsu can help, and if necessary, some simple jiu-jitsu techniques can help easily subdue an aggressor by knowing and using proper leverage, timing and technique.

In BJJ it doesn’t matter how big, or fast, or strong or athletic you are….Jiu-Jitsu is the great equalizer! And the cool thing is you can subdue someone with the least amount of effort, power or aggression!
